kFC is now Healthy for you and yours

Kentucky Fried Chicken (aka KFC) ... the name alone implies a plethora of fried, unhealthy dishes; however, you'll be surprised to learn that with KFC's new grilled chicken options, you can actually eat a somewhat healthy meal that is much better than most fast food restaurants these days.

Check out some of their healthiest menu options below:

o Roasted Chicken Caesar Salad with Fat Free Ranch Dressing (without croutons): 315 calories, 6g fat, 3g saturated fat, 940mg sodium
o House Side Salad with Light Italian Dressing: 25 calories, .5g fat, 0g sat. fat, 520mg sodium
o KFC Snacker (Honey BBQ): 210 calories, 32g carbs, 3g fat, 1g sat. fat, 470mg sodium
o 2 Grilled Chicken Wings: 160 calories, 8g fat, 2g sat. fat, 320mg sodium
o 1 Grilled Chicken Breast: 180 calories, 4g fat, 1g sat. fat, 440mg sodium
o 2 Grilled Chicken Drumsticks: 140 calories, 8g fat, 2g sat. fat, 400mg sodium
o 1 Grilled Chicken Thigh: 4 calories, 9g fat, 2.5g sat. fat, 320mg sodium
o Side of Green Beans: 25 calories, 0g fat, 0g sat. fat, 380mg sodium
o Side of Mean Greens: 30 calories, 0g fat, 0g sat. fat, 400mg sodium
o Side of 3 Bean Salad: 70 calories, 0g fat, 0g sat. fat, 170mg sodium

Bottom Line: KFC has made a lot of progress with their new Grilled Chicken options, which have fewer calories, fewer fat grams, and less sodium than the Original Recipe chicken. Of course KFC still has plenty of fried, fatty foods but they now offer enough healthy menu choices so that you can steer clear of the fried chicken and mashed potatoes. All-in-all, if you choose the grilled choices and pick a salad with low-fat dressing or beans as a side, KFC is one of the better fast food choices out there.
